deplying to iraq and have a mace pepper spray question?

i have been cross leveled to a mp unit headed to iraq, we just went through the gas chamber no biggie, 10 minutes and your fine again after letting loose all knot and tears etc, my concern is everyone in the unit has to get maced or pepper spayed in the face next week, and some of the guys are actual police officers in civilian sector and they have all told me they prefer the gas chamber over the ppepper spray any day, i was wondering what you can do after being sprayed in the face, is there anything that can be used for instance to repel the peper spray or limit the effectivness or am i doomed?

yeah it hurts like hell, there is nothing that I know of that can make you not feel it other then maybe crack lmao... sorry... What you will want to remember is that it does sting, DONT RUB YOUR EYES FOR THE LIFE OF YOU, AND when it does where off and you are able to get a shower DO NOT LET THE WATER OFF YOUR FOREHEAD RUN INTO YOUR EYES... or you will get it again, my best thing to tell you is when showering first take your head in the sink with eyes closed and rub with wet wash rag as much as possible... good luck, keep your chin up you can do it...

Pepper spray is nasty, no way around it!!

Officers here use baby shampoo when washing the stuff off. It help dumb the eyes a bit (that's how the "no tears" formula works). Never tried the shampoo thing myself so I can't vouch for how well it works.

*most people here were okay after a good rinse in about half an hour. My eyes were almost swollen shut the next day. I needed anti-inflamatory drops. I was the exception though! lucky me.

I've never heard of pepper spray neutralizer. Wish they had that in my day.

Been sprayed during training and it pretty much sucks. The effects are longer lasting than mace. If you're lucky the instructors will have some neutralizing wipes or spray but usually they won't because they want you to understand the effects and see how you do under the stress should you get sprayed with your own equipment. If you're really lucky they'll only hit you with a quick shot and get serious with it because then it'll really suck. My opinion, you're pretty much doomed.

Do not rub your eyes until they give you eyewash to clean them with. Rubbing will make it worse. My son is a Ranger & he said while it was not fun - it was not that bad. They are trying to mess with your head. They will not permanently hurt you - all things pass including pepper spray. Good luck!!

they have cans of a special spray that neutralizes the effects of the pepper spray available right there when you take that training course.
