what i don`t understand is she very open to the idea, and put on like she thought it would really work, but once you ask her she says no, and she does not want to hurt me. i don`t get it.

Perhaps at first she was ok about it because she thought that you wouldn't be serious, but after asking her out, that's when she had realized that you were serious. After puting some thought into it, she had realized that she had valued your friendship more than a relationship. A lot of people believe that if friends date, their friendship changes, but I've never had that problem. If you want an answer ask her, let her know that you are confused about her answer and you need an answer. Good Luck!

she doesn't like you romantically, she doesn't want to have sex with you, move on !
