O.K., I'm 13, like all my friends have a mypsace, and I'm not THAT popular, and I know that if I had a myspace I could gain some popularity. My parents say I can get on when I'm 14 (cause thats how old you're supposed to be when you get one), but I REALLY REALLY want one NOW!! Augh, I cant wait. HOW CAN I CONVINCE THEM IM READY NOW???? Also my birthday is only in a few months, so, do they think I'm actually going to mature enough in that timeframe? i need help. HELP!!

Well you should prove that your ready for myspace. you should do some chores around the house. you shouldnt beg them because that means that your not mature enough. I can relate to your problem. I really want one to but I cant because i was begging to much. but right now i am proving that i am mature enough to have one.
So i would take my advice if you beg your just saying that your not being mature enough.

Hello!, First of all I think you should wait till your 14 its just a couple of months as you write it yourself, at least you don't have to wait a year, don't you think?, well if you still want to try, you can tell them to help you prepare the Myspace page and use it with supervision until you are 14 that way you won't lose their trust and at the same time you and your parents will have a better communication. if you aren't that popular now, myspace isn't going to change it that much. if people are too LAZY to get to know you in person, do you think they will be any less lazy to read about you?
i have a 7 and 5 year old. my 7 yr old is in first grade and she has a firefly phone. i consider myself a very liberal parent. if there is something going on at school or she needs a ride, she can call me or anyone else programmed in her phone. on the net, everyone will be able to see that your profile. i think that's a bit much for you only being 13. if it was my kids at age 13, i would be monitoring their computer use bigtime. you may be very mature for 13...if you feel you are, you need to give your passwords to your parents so they can see who and what you are doing whatever with. it's THEIR RIGHT and for YOUR PROTECTION. suggest that. another option would be to get mom or dad to set the myspace page up for you, if i were them I'D AGREE TO THAT if you included me in on it. if you feel that's an invasion of your privacy, then you intend to be up to no good and aren't mature enough.

have you heard this stories of child molestions and kidnappings and MURDERS that happen via myspace. now, im not saying it is all bad, it is a good way to comunicate with friends, family, and bystanders. But some ppl use it for bad. convince your parents- no. you will not be able to do that. you must talk to them reasonably and adult like. tell them, that they can see the decorations and layouts and pictures you put on it. they can also check messages and aprove/deny friend requests until you become 14. once you become 14, you may venture on your own with barely and help from parents
PS: another thing with myspace is that you only get ONE page to post all of you info. why dont you log onto freewebs and set up your own personal website? it would be freewebs.com/something but, hey who cares its cool and you can chose layouts and add pics and music and text and you can have as many pages as you can type. now that, my friend, is cool

If i were u i would explain than i am ready. Tell them, that u will let them check ur site whenever they want. that u will block ur site so that ppl u don't know can't look at ur pictures or anything. N they u WILL NOT add ppl that u don't know. And that u won't put anything thats not suitable for ur age. But u can't break that trust with them. cuz then ur screwed.

i don't know you could always get one without them knowing if they don't check your computer on a daily basis. they are just worried about your safety and welfare because they know that there are some real freaks on myspace
