I like really weird guys, like the vampire goth type... I have no desire for normal dudes, they are boring and just don't do it for me.

To be honest a lot of girls find that they like bad guys, even guys whose are abusive or self-destructive, and they don't know why. I've heard a lot of teens/young adults call in to DMLive (www.dmlive.com) and talk about this. Usually the person had a chaotic childhood or had a lot of stress and problems in the home (though I'm not saying that that is the case with you), so once they are out on their own, normal guys of course seem very boring. The key is to understanding that and I think you are very wise in trying to understand why you have that attraction, because otherwise it will be a constant cycle and I'm not sure that it would be a good one. I would strongly caution you because from my experience these are the type of guys who will not lift you up and make you feel better about yourself. It may seem fine for awhile but I worry that eventually the lifestyle is going to bring you down. I think your conscience is trying to tell you something, otherwise you wouldn't have these questions and feel troubled by it. I suggest talking it out with the cool people at DMLive . There is nothing wrong with you by any means, if you consider goth guys to be more fun and attractive than boring normal guys I certainly don't see the problem. I have always had a thing for slightly nerdy or misfit guys; I always considered them to be nice, charming and make me feel comfortable. That may sound weird but that's just the way I see it. I'm entitled to my opinion and your are entitled to yours.

Well if you find that the guys you like treat you well and don't cheat on your or abuse you, then there is nothing wrong. But once you start becoming a victim of verbal or physical abuse, or are cheated on....then there is a problem. So it's not about how they dress as much as how they act.

I don't really know why they attract you. I would start there. Apparently they have behaviors that are not '' normal''. Otherwise you wouldn't ask ... is this normal? Find out why are so appealing to you by writing down their qualities and then ask yourself, when you are a full grown woman, working, wanting a family, will this be acceptable?

We don't always get to choose who we love. I have a type of guy I've always been attracted to. Strangely enough, every serious relationship I've had has been with someone completely different. If you like someone and they like you, who cares about the details. Enjoy life. You only get one.

No, what is wrong with having a preference? Is it the novelty that attracts you or something else?
Do suggest once in awhile trying something outside your regular preference. You might get a pleasant surprise.

No thats fine its just who you are and you shouldnt care what other people may think because there not important. You like what you like and you cant and shouldnt have to change that.
