your kitty is a domestic shorthair, or sometimes called American shorthair, that happens to be white with blue eyes...and probably deaf as well. Most white, blue eyed cats are deaf, or they go deaf at some point in their life. Nothing to worry about. Just an interesting fact I thought you might like to know:-)

You probably have a Domestic shorthair (ordinary cat). While many breeds have white as an accepted color, unless you got it from a breeder it is unlikely that it is a purebred. While it is true that many white cats with blue eyes are deaf, not all are. A deaf cat can live a normal and happy life, but definitely needs to be an indoor cat, as it is way too dangerous for him to be out. (Or any cat in my opinion.)

Sorry Trey, but most likely it is just a domestic. Remote possibility of some Siamese in it.

Because of it's blue eyes, as others have said, it will be deaf or will go deaf. Most likely it already is. Once way you can tell is by watching their equilibrium. Their balance tends to be off. Although, overall not dangerous, it merits some monitoring. Deaf cats are GREAT entertainers. Quite comical in fact.

In essence, you don't have a specific breed, but you do have a "special" cat. Cats born with congenital deafness are far and few between. They MUST be indoor cats. While they still have a keen sense of smell and eyesight, they are still handicapped when outdoors, they do not grasp the dangers of streets, car engines starting up, dogs barking.

I had one many years ago and when I wanted him to come for his treat, I would stomp my foot on the floor. Bingo, he appeared shortly thereafter.

Enjoy him Trey, he will give you many laughs.

Sounds like a Domestic Short Hair. This just means a mixed breed cat. My cat is also a domestic short hair. She is a tabby and white short haired cat.

White is a color not a species- the species of cats is Feline.
The breed of cat is variable- some breed are white, but some breeds have multiple colors of which white is just one.
Sorry dude, best we can tell you is you have a white cat. But you knew that part already didn't you?:)

PS- there's a good chance your cat is deaf as well!
