It just seems like everyone of them that posts here have some weird tale about abuse in a mental institution at the hands of a big, bad psychiatrist. They are also given meds that really mess them up.

I have worked in a state psychiatric hospital and those things do NOT happen. I think that they also believe that mental illness just started with antidepressants and psychotropic medicines. I wish they would take all 300 patients in the hospital where I work and cure them. That would really make a believer out of me.

no i agree with you a hundred percent. i also worked in a psychiatric hospital in the late 60s. the problem is maybe they have never set foot in a psychiatric hospital in their life, and are only preying on vulnerable and susceptible people. i think they are doing a lot of harm to people who need help. every hospital has a person, who is unhappy about their treatment. and the Scientology people only talk to them , not the thousands who entered hospital, and left much better. i like to see tom cruise "cure" some of the people i have dealt with. the patients that i helped probably would say he was nuts. hope this helped your answer, and no it is not just you

I think that many of the scientologists on here are lying about their personal experiences with psychiatric care. Their crap about how evil it is sounds a lot more believable if they have first hand experience with it, and they're probably making most of it up to add credibility to their false accusations and other lies.
Many of them probably *should* be in a mental hospital, but that's a different issue.
Scientology is a dangerous cult. It exists to make money for its leaders, and in the process of robbing you blind it will also try its best to undermine your healthcare, particularly in the area of mental health. Stay far away from this "religion."

Scientologist. Diagnosis: 297.1 DSM-IV. They lie about their experiences with mental health treatment to promote the ideology of their charismatic leader L. Ron Hubbard. Hubbard once remarked to a colleague that he could make more money selling religion than he could writing sci-fi. Hubbard's opinion of mental heath care hinges upon the fact that person's most likely to participate in a cult religion, or religion in general, have experienced, or do or will experience some form of mental psychosis.

It sounds like they have swapped "abuse" from mental hospitals to mind control from their church.

Any person from any walk of life can experience depression, it doesnt, unlike some people, discriminate between sex, race or religion.
People who suffer from mental illness need love, understanding and support..... nothing else.
