I split up with my girlfriend seven months ago. It ended badly. I'm pretty much over her, except for those nagging feelings of missing her.

We live two hours apart and on Monday me and a buddy have to go very close to the town she lives in, so we've decided to go there aswell. I haven't been there for nine months.

I don't know why but I feel like going there and taking my buddy to all the places I remember would give me some sort of closure. I don't want to bump into my ex; if I do (it's so unlikely) I will get out of there immediately.

Do you think I should go?

i do not really think so............sometimes though i think we are a glutton for punishment...i know i am lucky to of lost a guy but i still think of the good times we had........but i could tell he was going to be like my first husband , abusive and very controlling ..........it is sad that we can not find someone to share our lives with without all the pain ...i was joking with a girlfriend the other day and wandered if there is a store we can preorder a decent guy that is not out to hurt people...and you know a few other things in mind........but she said if there is i would of done and been there.,,,,,i really think you should let it go and not visit there ...why should you go there...........

I think you should go. It will probably bring up some memories and, while not really giving you the closure you're looking for, make you reflect on the relationship and realize what it is you need to get closure. Maybe you need to write her a letter you never send or something. Having your buddy there will be good, he can keep you from doing anything stupid while feeling emotional.

maybe it will give you what you seek but it may also be extremely hard to handle, take time and listen to what your feeling and let your instinct guide you best of luck and i hope you find an ending.

You are so NOT over her. Otherwise, you would not want to go anywhere near where she may be.

Good luck on whatever you decide.
