Okay, my dog constantly barks every 5 minutes and he has the loudest bark ever and the most piercing bark it is so annoying. I take im outside assuming he has to go but he dosen't so lately I've been just taking him outside every time he barks like that.

Then I thought it was him teething because he is only like 7 months. I give him a bone and he settles down but the bone meat disappears in a second and he starts barking again, it is so annoying. Since he is a puppy is he just going through something or is it because something is hurting him I don't know about? Does anybody else have this problem?

It sounds like he's figured out you'll take him out everytime he barks. He may be bored. Do you take him out for a long walk and exercise or do you just take him out to go to the bathroom?

My dog had that problem when she was around 4 months old. This is what I did: when she barks, I would say "NO BARKING!" and then put her behind a doggy door where she can still see me. I then walked away and did not look at her at all (ignorance is a big punishment for dogs). When she stops barking, I would look at her with a smile and say "good girl" and start walking toward her again. If she barks again I'll turn around and walk away and only praise her when she stops (make sure that it is immediately after so that she knows that you like her when she stops barking and do not like her when she barks). This is how I teached my dog to stop barking. I hope it helps.
Good luck!
P.S. patience is the key!

He could be bored, a Kong toy with treats inside will maybe keep him busy longer. One method to stop barking is to fill a small cloth bag with coins and when he barks say a stern NO! and throw the bag down on the floor near him (not at him!) this worked for a friend of mine's barky pooch, you have to be very consistant. Good luck

I had this prob with my pit. A shock/noise collar that I controlled myself with a remote worked the best. I used the #3 setting on the shock and used the noise when she barked. After a few times, I cut down to just the noise button and she knew that was the sign to shut up. hope that helps.

uggh, yes my mom breeds dogs and we have 1 male who never sold and he's about the same age. he just barks and barks nonstop all the time. we just have to let him outside. we have acreage though. maybe you could find something else that keeps him busy and play with him alot. if worse comes to worse get him a shock collar. i don't like automatic barking collars because sometimes they get shocked when they don't even bark! If you must, get one with a remote. good luck.

What breed to you have? Some are more vocal than others. You should try an anti-bark collar. They are like 45 dollars at WalMart I think. THEY REALLY WORK!

your dog needs to be trained. You need to be trained with your dog. why not enroll in classes at petsmart and you both will be happier. He is just a puppy looking for leadership.
