meningitis is and infection of the brain I don't think it is an autoimmune disease. but having a weak immune system leaves you open to more infections? good question

No, it is an infection caused by a viral/bacteria agent. Autoimmune diseases are not contagious.

You get it from dorm rooms usually. Enclosed spaces shared by a lot of people. Why worry about it, get the vaccination for it.
