You need to find someone that is a good driver to teach you. If the person teaching you isn't good, all will learn is their bad habits.

Stick shift will take longer. Auto not so long. I'd say if you had someone who is calm next to you would make your feel better, and learn quickly. Learn at a Park with roads and less traffic. Probably two weeks. Then you must remember every driver is an impaired driver, and apply the rules of the road.

You cannot learn how to drive if the person teaching you does not drive well.

About 10 minutes. I'm not kidding. I started and learned to drive in about that time. It's not hard. Living life is harder.
