Before my first tour, I went to Hawaii. Before the second, Europe.

First of all, ignore all the idiots out there telling you to run for the border, I guess it depends on where in the U.S. you are and how long you have before you mobilize. I love the western states, Utah is gorgeous, you could always go to the 4 corners. Take those most important to you along, you can never create too many memories to take with you.

Since my husband is getting ready to deploy, and I just got out of the Army (For medical reasons), we are going to visit my family in maryland and then to texas to see his. Then we get to come back to lovely Fort Riley, Kansas for a few days. Fun Fun.
The best thing about it is going on a road trip with my husband who will be gone for a year. And I get to take my two puppies with me!

My son is off to Yellowstone Park to camp & rock climb.
He is taking his wife & 2 daughters, ages 3 & 1.
He wants to go because it is one of the only US parks he has never been to he love pictures ffrom his Dad & I honeymoon (33 yrs ago) Old Faithful is the same, the mountains, rocks, trails, & etc are still there. Mostly he was an experience with his little family to take in his heart & mind to Iraq.

I would go to Florida and hit all of the beaches and the clubs. I would take a couple of my best friends.
