Today is my oldest daughter's birthday. She is 17. I was wondering if anyone knows a good website where I can find something special to write in her card. I am open to your ideas also if you dont know a site. I want to let her know how much she means to me but I just cant come up with the right words at the moment. Best answer gets 10 points. Thanks in advance.

Well, when my girls get to that age... I know the kinds of things I hope to write in there cards.

I'd tell them how wonderful, strong & intelligent they are. How beautiful and precious they are to me... and that I've truly enjoyed being blessed enough to experience them becoming a young woman right before my eyes. I hope that I'll be able to share something about one of my fondest memories of them as a little girl in comparison to one of my fondest memories from them when they're older. I'd include something about how I hope that they never stop working to achieve their goals & aspirations... and being the sappy person that I am, I'd probably include a verse or two of the song "I hope you dance" by LeeAnn Womack, or possibly even play it or sing it during a "family karaoke" night for them LOL. :) My daughters are 21 mos and 36 mos right now... and each time I hear that song I get teary eyed thinking about what their futures hold for them.

Think about how your life has changed from the moment you found out you were pregnant with her until now... remember all the good times (and possibly some of the not-so-good that you were able to overcome) and I'm pretty sure that, as her mother, you will be more than able to come up with something!

Congratulations on raising your daughter. I hope that you & your fam have a peaceful, memorable day celebrating her 17th year!!! :)

On my daughters birthday I found these cards that were the shape of a butterfly and they had everything typed in except there was a space left open for a short description of the gift and a space for the name of the child. I always use these because it gets a little personal without me having to spend hours that I don't have thanking people that I have already said thank you to. I have tried the her writing her own name and I would wait to do the scribbling until about three when it really looks like something besides a scribble. Good Luck.

Go to flavia.com, they have great cards, and they are a really nice site. However, I think that what you should tell your daughter is what comes from your heart. It will mean more to her if she knows that it is word for word from mom to daughter. After all, she is only seventeen once!! Tell your oldest happy birthday!!!

well, you should tell her how much she has grown and, tell her how beautiful she has gotten and tell her how proud you are of all her achievments and you should just write what you would want to hear from her

How about this:

"Don't measure your life by its number of breaths... measure by the number of times it takes your breath away."

How about:

I am so proud of you on this special day! I am so glad I am your mother! Thanks for making me your mother.

Hows that?
