it's very possible but not very likely to be done by eating whole foods alone. there would probably have to be some high carb protein shakes and maybe a cheeseburger in there to hit 6,000 cals a day. i've consumed almost that much before and it's a LOT of food.
what could happen? when you consume far more calories than you expend fat gain occurs

Yes, that is why most Americans are overweight. Just look at the typical Thanksgiving dinner: Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, sweet potatoes, veggies, pie, not to mention appetizers like cheese and crackers, and chips and dip, etc. I think that qualifies as a massive overeating event with thousands more calories than necessary.

Yes, actually many people do it. It's called binge eating. It's very bad for you, and usually eventually leads to obesity. IT's an eating disorder, and if someone does that they should get help immediately, they can get very sick by doing this. And people with this have been known to eat as much as 15,000 calories per day. So yes, it's possible, but very very unhealthy.

Just saw a show on TV last week documenting obesity.
One guy was consuming 33,000 calories/day. Weighed close to 900lbs.
