Isn´t that an irrefutable proof that "sola scriptura" contradicts the same Bible it pretends to support, since everyone claims to be inspired by the Holy Spirit so all should get to the same set of beliefs?

Isn´t that also a proof that an authority (Magisterium) is needed?

Before you reply consider Luther words in his letter to his friend Heinrich Zwingli:
"There are almost as many sects and beliefs as there are heads..... There is not an individual, however clownish he may be who does not claim to be inspired by the Holy Ghost, and who does not put forth as prophecies his ravings and dreams."

Jesus has ALL authority and Magisterium. He said "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me." (Mt. 28:18).
I believe that and also that He came to reconcile us with the Father. But I also believe Him when He said "the Spirit will guide you to ALL truth" (Jn. 16:13). He did not say that each of the 33000+ denominations would receive an incomplete truth. The founders of these denominations (all not older than 500 years) have chosen to take out bits and pieces of the truth because it does not fit their personal beliefs (one takes this, another that, and so on).
But there must be one Church who has received ALL the truth and that transmits the original Magisterial teaching of Jesus as understood by the first Christians. This is clear as he said: "On this Rock I will build MY Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, and what you" (Mt. 16:18), " and I am with you always" (Mt. 18:20)

Wefmeister:

You forgot to add verse 14 : "so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching”". (could we say " by any of the 33000+ winds of teaching")

Jesus Christ is the truth.
Evidently, not very many people are following Him, otherwise, there would not be so many different denominations all teaching something different. Then, too, we have His Word on it that if you are following a crowd, you are going the wrong way...
The best advice anyone can give you about this dilemma is to go back to Jesus for the truth, not to any church, denomination, or any human being. He is the authority (Magisterium)...in fact ALL AUTHORITY belongs to Him.
He has promised to reveal Himself to anyone who is honestly seeking Him...He also knows the difference between someone honestly seeking Him, and those calling Him "Lord Lord", when they are really only seeking to promote themselves.
The bottom line here, is
Trust Jesus.

A comparison of the beliefs and doctrines of these thousands of sects shows that man long ago stopped listening to God and began to follow man. That comparison will also show that the teachings they have in common, but that are not found in the Bible, originated in ancient Babylon.

To wit: most religions teach that the soul is immortal. This is in direct opposition to the Bible which plainly teaches that the soul is not immortal, can and does die and can be destroyed. Can the teaching of the so-called immortality of the soul be traced to Babylon? Yes.

hi BLI, i'm a seventh-day Adventist Christian. i do no longer think that any denomination can shop a individual. "in basic terms Jesus saves." i'm undertaking with regard to the departure from the observe of God that I see with the aid of the physique of Christ immediately. we would desire to take a sturdy stand against Immorality, Evolution and against people who declare to be in the religion yet brazenly marginalize the observe of God. no longer all denominations have self assurance in the deity of Christ. seventh-day Adventists strongly coach that Jesus is God. That we are stored with the aid of his vicarius loss of life on the bypass for our sins. We pray in the call of Jesus. We have self assurance in salvation with the aid of Christ and Christ on my own. We even have self assurance that we could consistently shop his Commandments as he Commanded that his church could do. John 14:15. There could be a harmonious stability between grace and regulation. John 3:sixteen one million John one million:9 Romans 3:31 Romans 6:23 Romans 10:9 Ephesians 2:8,9 Revelation 3:20 have self assurance expensive acquaintances in God.

I think all 33,000+ denominations would agree that Jesus is the Truth, (and the Way and the Life).
That men are in difference in their understanding of the Truth is no marvel, as it is written:
"And He gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the true knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
(Ephesians 4:11-13)

No,it's not 'irrefutable proof' of a contradiction of sola scriptura. The different denominations believe the same *core* things, like every Christian does. But then you have small things (ex:How should we baptize?) which don't matter, and we're told that it's okay to have differences of opinion.Other denominations are just named after their founders,or their method of teaching, and are the same as each other.
The Bible always comes first in matters of faith.

The bottom line is - If you want a mess then let a human do it.
Christianity is people following what God says.
Religion is people following what man says God said.

If it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived.
It is not possible for the very elect to be deceived, not for long at least.
GOD can break any deception.
Seek and ye shall find.

I guess you have all the evidence you need not to believe then. Do you want validation from anyone else?

If you need validation, then I guess you're not so sure.
