I've always been an anxious person, but it's gotten worse since I was thirteen. When I started high school (almost 3 years ago, I'm 16 and in grade 11), I was so concerned about my marks that I would stay up all night. I have panic attacks whenever I see something terrifying, my hands are constantly cold and sweaty, I tremble a lot, I've driven many times yet I still shake, and I have a hard time keeping friends because I am always afraid that they are not the right people to be around. I understand that when you're a teen, your horomones are crazy, but, is this really normal behaviour for a sixteen year old girl? Thanks for your help (rude answers will be ignored.)

I have an anxiety disorder, and I'm pretty confident that you do too. The way you feel is not normal, but it has probably been going on so long that you don't even remember what normal is. I started taking Celexa for my anxiety a year ago and it completely changed my life. I sleep better, I'm healthier, and I'm HAPPY! Chronic anxiety can cause serious depression. It's so hard to enjoy your life when you are constantly anxious. Please see a doctor, and they will be able to give you a real evaluation and tell you whether what you are going through is normal and what to do to stop it. Don't be scared!! Good luck, I'll pray for you!!!

Err....can't really say, I don't know you. But, to me, it sounds like it's getting there. I think that if you went and saw a youth worker about your issues that it could help you a lot. I am sometimes a very anxious person and I go and talk to someone all the time. And, you said you were 16, right? This means that you've only had your driver's license for a little bit, right? If so, it's totally normal to be a little nervous behind the wheel. It's normal because we've never done that before; we are so used to our parents driving us around. As for the panic attacks, I would seek treatment with a youth worker. Hope I helped.

There isn't anyone that doesn't have some type of anxiety, phobia, disorder, addiction, or chemical imbalance. You show me some one that is "normal" or completely "sane" and I want to talk to them. In God's Good Book in Genesis, He said that He gave every green herb bearing seed as food because He saw that it was good. I wish I could go back in time to be in high school with you so I could share a joint with you. Not trying to be rude honey.

I would see a counselor becuase you hands are always cold and sweaty. That means you are under stress. I take medicine for stress. A doctor might prescribe you something to help with the anxiety.

Sounds like free floating anxiety. Talk to a therapist.

This sounds like an anxiety disorder. You should talk to your parents and tell them that you'd like to see your doctor about it. Your doctor should be able to give you a referal to a mental health professional.

Hmm, it could be generalized anxiety disorder. I'm a teenager too but i wouldn't consider myself be as 'anxious' as you are....maybe you are carrying too much of a load. Sit back relax, see a specialist...
