My spouse has ten siblings and I couldn't believe how un-Walton they were! These were all adults who were jealous of each other and especially jealous of the attention from the parents.

All families, large or small, have their own personalities and issues. I'm from a family of 8 children, and we weren't the Walton's, either.

My husband is #8 of ten kid in his family. While not the Waltons, his family is just fine. Each of the brothers and sisters has their own family and they try to get together for family reunions every few years.

They are, for the most part, respectful of each other and pleased to see one another succeed.

Not every family, nor every individual in a family, will exhibit the same maturity or respect.

Plus, the Waltons had one advantage that our society often lacks: they were each others best friends due to circumstance and choice. They had to pull together because they were all trying to survive the Great Depression and the farm needed every hand to feed them all.
