I am getting that message when trying to start micorsoft works
The application failed to initialized properly (0xc06d007e). Click ok to terminate the application
and this message

when i click ctrl+alt+del to see if any type of ofther program is running?
any advise would be useful. my internet explorer is about the only thing that is working now

may need to error check your hard drive
start
my computer
local disk C: - right click
properties
second tab at top - TOOLS
error checking - CHECK NOW -
put check marks in both boxes - START
(NOW - you may need to reboot your computer to get this function to work - as it likes to be the one and ONLY one running at the time)
if MS Works still won't - you may need to reload the program

You have a corrupted file line in your computer software.
Go to Start, Programs, Accesories, SystemRestore, and do a system restore to an earlier date when your computer was working fine. Pick date on that calendar. Reboot, it will be fixed.

reinstall if you got cd.
