If it's a vet prescribed medicine and you follow the dosage exactly. Also, make sure to stay with the cats until it wears off. So, that may be 8-12 hours. You'll need to keep the cats in the same room as you and keep an eye on them at all times.

Nope, cats need their own medicine, so do dogs, sheep, ferrets, and on. I'm glad to see that most answers here state that. Especially that the Vet Techs had input. I liked the pillowcase idea too. When I bathed my cats, which was very infrequently, usually when they needed a flea bath before flea meds became modified for cats, I used my sink, put a towel on the bottom, had a pail of warm water for wetting the cat and one for rinsing. A part of the problem in bathing a cat is the sound of the water running. It helps to have a second person to either do the washing and rinsing or holding. Talk constantly to the cat, soothing it. Do the psychotic cat first. Possibly this will make him less psychotic if it doesn't hear the other cat yowling. And try not to be apprehensive or angry. The animals will pick up on that and like kids, feed into it. Hope this helps some. I've only been lucky enough to have 2 cats that loved water.

Oh my god this is horrible. I feel your pain i had to deal with the same situation. There was a stray cat that I feed that got attacked by something and had a gaping wound in its neck. No shelter would take the animal because they were all full and i couldn't get the cat in a carrier anyway, believe me I tryed. But my neighbor wanted to shoot the poor thing and put it out of its misery before it died of infection. I refused to let him unless the cat was sedated and sleeping. So we gave it 2 pink Xanax sedatives in some tuna. And that is enough to knock me out, but it didn't knock the cat out .The poor thing started to stagger a little bit, but never went down. We followed it for 2 hours and nothing happened so we gave up. I thought that would be enough to make it o.d. eventually, but nope the cat is now healthy and fine . But your poor kitty sounds like its not. Broken bones aren't something it can heal from and make a full recovery without medical attention, ex specially if there is a spinal injury. All I can say is to try and come up with a quick and humane way to put it out of its misery , I don't care what anyone thinks it cant be left to suffer and starve to death. And if there is no vet than there is nothing else to do! I am so sorry for your situation ,I know how heartbreaking it is to watch animals suffer. But something has to be done. I just don't know how. If anyone has any good and humane ideas please help! And I used to have a little pomeranion mix breed dog and the vet told us to give him the childrens chewable tylenol one time for pain. so i dont see why you couldnt give a little to cat. Maybe you could try to contact a vet back in the states and get their opinion!

I would not try anything that you have in your medicine cabinet(unless its been prescribed for your pets). Compared to dogs, cats are extremely susceptible to having serious, sometimes, life threatening, reaction to various medications. There are two options that come to mind: take your cats to a groomer and let him/her bath them or contact your veterinarian.
A groomer will know how to bath your cats in a manner that will cause the least possible stress to your pets. Plus he/she will be able to give you ideas on how to prolong their bath (I.e. purchasing moist wipes that contain a leave-in pet shampoo formula, brush techniques, etc...).
Call your Veterinarian and explain your dilemma. There are a few over the counter organic pet products that might help and he can recommend (Omaha Vaccine Co, www.omahavaccine.com, sells these types of products) the best brands. And/or he may prescribe a tranquilizer THAT IS FOR CATS AND WITH A DOSAGE BASED ON YOUR CATS WEIGHT!

NO NO! Don't give your cat ANY kind of medication that is not prescribed by a veterinarian! Certain medications that are okay for humans to take can KILL cats! I know they need a bath, but it is much better to wait until you talk to your veterinarian.

Do not use human medicine on a cat unless a vet tells you it is ok and how much to use.
I recommend that the cat that goes psychotic when it gets a bath is put in a pillow case and you wash it through the pillow case. It cuts down on the scratches and the cat can breathe.

No, never give a pet any kind of medicine that is for humans. It is very dangerous, especially with cats because they're so small.

Only vet prescribed medicines! Things like tylenol are deadly to cats. Also, you have a cat that weighs a few pounds and you want to give them adult strength medicine that could overdose them.

DO NOT give any animal medications that have been prescribed for humans. Using the kind of medications your talking about could put your cat to sleep permanently.
