why does my friend's dog eat rabbit droppings/waste?

I noticed it when we where walking our dogs. I asked her, but she did not know nor did she seem to care. She said he does this all the time.

As nasty as it is its "Canine Caviar" to your friends dog. I don't let my dogs do that if I can catch them in time.
