Its not the US troops that want democracy, its Israel & USA governments that want control of Iraq while selling the idea of democracy. The western governments had the shaw in Iran and as you can see, Iran ran him out in the 80's and Iraq will do the same sooner or latter, the government of Iraq is illegal because it was set up by an invading force on a country that posed not treat to the invading nations at the time. We must remember no matter how much you dislike hearing it, Israel is a major factor for the war if not the entire reason it started in the first place. There is just so much we don't know and so much the government does not want us to understand. The U.S. is miss using & abusing the word DEMOCARCY in the middle east.

Officially, we have brought democracy to Iraq, but making the democracy stable and sucessful is another story. In order to make democracy sucessful, a comprimise must be made between the different religious sects in Islam, the most prominent relationship between the Sunni and Shi'ite sects. These two religious groups must stop thier fighting in order for democracy to run efficiently and properly. I beleive that the solution of the problem lies not within the American or Iraqi military forces stationed in Iraq, but with the citizens of iraq instead. In order for the iraqis to come to an agreement amongst themselves, the United States also needs to reduce the hatred towards us as well. All the American troops can do is protect and assist the iraqi citizens in an attempt to make allies with them. If we try to apprach the problem with a military solution, the result could be an oppressive military force that merely spawns more hatred within the iraqi populus.
Thats all, I should really get started on homework...

The only way that we can bring peace on EARTH is without war....US is not there for that reason and people do you have any idea how many times the government has lied to us. They are definetley not there for democracy ..what the US GOVERNEMTN is doing is pissing them off more and if there is a another 9/11 but worse it will be because they have to stop stickin their noses everywhere like they are the boss and fix their own issues or use the money that they used in the war to help poverty around the world..or pay for heath care or free university education. We need to have good people as presidents of nations and then each take of their own nation towards the good of the people period. Until everyone realizes this it wont happen

First, Islam does have many variations within the religion.
The Sunni-Shiite conflict is just one of many examples.
Second, democracy has nothing to do with religion.
As long as the population is willing to vote and accept the decision of the majority, then democracy can work.
Remember, democracy is nothing more than might-makes-right majority rule. It has nothing inherently to do with freedom or diversity. In fact, the only way a democracy has freedoms is the majority allows them, or if there is some higher legal authority (a Constitution, for example) that protects them.
But you do raise one valid point. An outside group can never "bring democracy" to anyone. Democracy must be voluntary.

Iraq has SEVERAL religions... Sunni and Shiite Islam (like Catholics and Baptists) and Christians (about 5%).
Democracy is NOT dependent upon Freedom of Religion !!
Democracy in the American Republic hadn't anticipated Islamics, Buddists, nor many others... we were a nation of christian sects...

Democracy and religion can coincide. Have you read the Qu'ran. The theocracy in place in countries such as Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria is not truly related to Islam. The Muslim leaders attained power and instituted a conviluted quasi-Islamic sharia to rule people. Over time this has garnered followers of the strict sharia and isolated those who disagree with the ruling class. These people are oppressed. These are the people who seek freedom and liberty. The majority of people in these countries want to be free. These are the people we are trying to instill a representative government for.
The leadership of other Middle Eastern nations fear a liberated, self-sufficient, democratic Iraq. They fear this for the same reasons Southern states in the early years of America did just about all they could to ensure that free states did not outnumber slave states. There was a widespread belief that slaves would have access to freedom, become aware of the beauty of being free, and learn of the powers that accompanied that freedom. Islamic governments are afraid that their citizens will learn of the greatness that is liberty and want to become free themselves. That is why these insurgents in Iraq are so well funded and armed. They receive support from local leaders who are doing anything and everything to protect their way of life.
It is for the people of these countries that we fight and can not afford to lose this fight.

You can live in harmony if you do not allow the extremists to continue to do what they are doing, The US has had The civil war over slaves this is what is happening in Iraq, The government can't tell us all things that happens because many more could to harms way. I believe that if they can suppress the extremist they will have a chance. It does not matter what you or I think it matters what they think. Just like Germany and Communism it does not happen overnight, if it did we would already be in great shape. If you were there maybe you could see the differnce, but this is not really about that at all, this is a smear campain to make it not work, So that We can start another civil war in our own country. If we lose over there they will come here aand help you get God out of our country and Islam in....

a soilder is a soilder u cant expect troops to promote democracy they are trained for military operations and destroying stuff not being public relations officer or psychiatrist.
if u destroy a country and the law & order in the first place and how do u expect in the midst of chaos the people to accept democracy when all they have to cling on to is religion their faith
it isnt every where that u get killed for converting from islam only in radicalist states does it happen u could convert in india and still not get killed
iraq has christians as well u have no idea about it unless u have been there or living in neighbouring countries
democracy has nothin to do with religion its just a notion created by us but implemented by politicians to keep staying in power

Do you consider Christianity to be one religion? If so, you need some deeper understanding. Shiite and Sunni's are only both Muslims in the same sense that the KKK and Jerry Falwell both refer to the same Bible... In muslim tradition, it's "bad" to be a non-muslim, but it's REALLY BAD to become a muslim and "backslide" away from it. They have more respect for you being a steadfast Jew or Christian than becoming one AFTER professing muslim faith. This is what they call an Apostate. They figure if you saw the light (Islam) and went to another belief, you are a true non-believer, and nothing short of a traitor to their beliefs... That being said, there has never been what we would call "Unity" among most muslim countries, because they can't seem to agree with each other on many things, EXCEPT how much they hate the US.

I nevertheless have no theory what the real reason for the Iraqi Invasion. Saddam had no connection to 9/11 and Osama who's liable for it continues to be loose. No weapons of mass destruction have been ever latest in Iraq.not one of the hijackers have been Iraqis and the real threats like North Korea and Osama are untouched by employing the U.S. The Iraqis do no longer see the U.S. as liberators using fact they only grew to become their u . s . a . into hell. How could U.S. citizens experience if a foreign places u . s . a . invaded the U.S. to "unlock us" from a tyrant by employing bombing the cities and killing our human beings? i think of each and every guy or woman with a gun could start up attacking the invaders. The Iraqi conflict is an entire mess.there are various indignant orphans suitable now and that i'm effective they do no longer see the U.S. as their heroes.i wish that those orphans are not the subsequent technology of terrorists.
