Are you ready to shift your paradigm then?

Atheists, if you answered yes, then it's time to stop calling christians stupid.

Christians, by the same token, it's time to stop calling atheists stupid.

If it takes intelligence to be willfully ignorant, they cannot be stupid.

This message brought to you by the R&S Ministry of Religious Tolerance.
Thank you and have a nice evening.

I agree with your point that it is time to stop calling others stupid just because we disagree. Because it denotes a lack of arguments on the part of the person who is insulting the other.
On the other hand a person can have intelligence and act stupidly. I think the greatest form of stupidity is wilful ignorance, isn't it? Still, no point in telling the person they are stupid, and it's better to use another vocabulary word, even, than to point out they are acting stupidly.
The question is: who am I to say the other person is being wilfully ignorant? That, to me, is as harsh as calling a person stupid. (even though it sounds a bit better to the ear).
The main thing is to stop judging people, and analyze our arguments instead.

I may not agree with some atheists, just like they don't agree with me. As long as there's mutual respect and tolerance between us, no problemo.

I'm not a big proponent of name-calling or childish behavior, no matter what flavor of spirituality the person prefers. Sometimes my fellow Christians get on my last thin nerve for their appalling behavior, too.

I missed your question the first time around, so I take a shot here......

Even a stupid person can be ignorant of the facts, willingly or not..........so I would have to say no

Just because one is "intelligent" doesn't mean he makes intellectual decisions.

So I do not agree.
