i mean someone just asked on relationships and family section 'am i a bad person for losing my virginity at 15' and some religious person starts quoting psalms from the bible, and telling them they are a bad person and will go to hell unless they go to church every day and say 10 hail marys.. i mean what the heck?? do people honestly live a life by a book which i personally believe is a book of fantasy and wishful thinking that somebody made up to keep society in order, and for those people who cant handle the fact they are in control of their life not some invisible person that may not have even exist.. dont get me wrong i dont think the entire bible isnt real, there is no smoke with out fire, the bases of the stories are probably real but have just been changed like in chinese whispers..
back to the point dont you think you should answer questions with YOUR own views and opinions instead of opinions and rules stated in a book somebody else wrote

Im not 15 i was using that as an example, im 18. I dont disagree with people who are religious or however much they wish to live by the bible and believe in god, that is up to them (some however have no choice because families force the child with certain views and opinions), i disagree with someone preaching to other people using the words of the bible, instead of their own opinions they formed in their own minds.
My mind is abstract, i have the ability to view subjects from different points of views, I am not stupid to those who are implying it.

I agree. There are definately some real bible thumpers out there who believe that the answer to everything comes from the bible. It isn't to say that there aren't some good points made by the book, but a page full of quotes never solves anything. And the part about going to hell, now that's just mean. Fear tactics are a terrible way to try to convert someone. It just displays that they may have good intentions, but they go about it the wrong way. They're answering like a book, not like a human.

So, are you saying that none of your views or oopinions have been influenced by anything that you have read or been taught?
The truth is you are simply bigoted toward Christians, are you not?
Aren't you also a religious person, who simply hates Christians? Don't you rationalize the positions you hold religiously?
The message above appears quite hostile, yet the message you quoted from the Christian appears to be compassionate within the confines of the Crhistian faith.
If you disagree with the message, why must you challenge their belief system? It is hardly a logical argument to invalidate someone's opinion because a particular book, like the Bible, agrees with their opinion.
You'r comment about the Bible is a book that you. "personaly believe is a book of fantasy and wishful thinking that somebody made up to keep society in order, and for those people who cant handle the fact they are in control of their life not some invisible person that may not have even exist."
Who made up the rules that you follow? Are you saying that you believe that society should have no order?
So what did you tell the 15-year-old girl? What influenced your opinion or belief system?
The truth is all of the opinions about personal relationships, including yours, have existed throughout history. None of them are new.
There has always been a Hedonistic element who live a selfish life of pleasure for themselves, without considering the consequences to others or even themselves.
Hedonistic behavior has always been associated with the downfall of civilizations throughout history. You certainly have a right to disregard historical documentation, the Bible being the oldest and most comprehensive ever preserved, but it is always at the risk of repeating the perilous and dangerous mistakes of the past.

Your premise of disbelief is interesting, but also quite common. Secular history just happens to provide validity to the Bible, did you know that? After all of these 1000's of years, the most ancient of manuscripts show that they, and the current Bibles are remarkably the same. While there are minor word differences, they are not enough to make any real differences in the message being conveyed. Are you flexible enough to accept that? The Bible is true, every word of it, only the foolish reject it.
So far as what you had to say about the person who condemned the girl for losing her virginity at 15, I would gladly take that person on and show them that by their own words and twisted beliefs they stand on much more shaky ground than the girls does. God loves her very much, and sent Jesus to be the necessary sacrifice for her, that her sin can be atoned for by that very sacrifice that Jesus did for everyone that has, or ever will live. That person has set themselves up as a righteous judge, and that is clearly taught as something no one is to to. They'll find out soon enough that as they have judged that girl, so will they be judged, and possible even worse because they should know better.

Where to begin. I am a Christian, but I do not believe that losing your virginity at 15 makes you a bad person. I'm guessing someone was joking, although it is not something to joke about. Going to church and saying 10 hail marys doesn't do anything in my belief, but instead believing that Jesus was God's son who died on the cross for our sins.
As for the second paragraph, that doesn't make any sense. You are supposed to learn from books. The only difference is that we believe The Bible is divine, perfect, and inspired by God.
Also, nothing makes someone think more than theology. The book of Revelation alone is more complex than anything else I have ever read.

While I agree that, that person handled the 15 yr old question badly, I don't believe that I should not have opinions in common with others, written or otherwise. By this I mean if my views agree with an ancient religious document and yours don't, does that mean my views are necessarily inferior to yours? I hope not, but it sounds like that's what you're saying. Why should traditional views about premarital sex automatically be dismissed just because they're stated in a time-tested book like the Bible? My challenge for you is to separate your anxiety over how badly that 15 yr old question was answered and your observation that people agree with others throughout history about a certain topic. That happens all the time, but it doesn't necessarily mean that such an opinion in automatically right or wrong.

It's wrong to lose your virginity at 15, whether you are religious or not. I believed that before I became a Christian. I think it's common sense, something many people lack. God doesn't give an age limit, He is against sex outside of marriage. Most atheists say you don't need God to have morals. I agree with that, but when you have faith and become a believer, what God says becomes what you want to do. Sometimes that is something you already did and believed in, and sometimes it's something you have to sacrifice and struggle to achieve.
May God Bless you.

Yes you should state your own opinion. What a Catholic believes could be just as wrong as what an atheist believes, however a Christian of any denomination will make up their minds on whether to adopt a set of principals from God or not.
This does not mean that we have the right to condemn. That my dear girl is what God will do if His wisdom deems so.
Why do you think God marked Cain?
God marked Cain so that the self righteous would not carry a grudge for Him. God can take care of His own thank-you very much.
To the atheist ....just where did they come up with their own code of rules? They were children just as we were. They too had to grow, and decide what to put their faith in. Just where did they get their information from? Carl Sagan? Jules Verne?Carl Jung? The atheist did not make up their own moral codes, they too learnt from others and made their own mind up therefore having their own opinions.
So I have to ask you; do you think that the Gnostic's,atheists, and irrelevant should keep their own counsel to themselves as well?
If you aren't prepared for the answer .....then don't ask the question!

I'd like to see that answer for myself. Please post the URL for the question -- thanks.
And to answer your question, I do state my own views. I may support them with an appropriate passage of Scripture, but they are my personal opinions. Many of my views are based on the Bible's teaching because I believe that it is the inspired Word of God and the most reliable basis for establishing morality.
It would be the same as a Freudian psychologist giving his opinion and a Jungian psychologist adding his imput. Both responses are based on an underlying foundation of study and knowledge.

It is wrong for any one to have sex outside of marriage. All the "hail Mary's" in the world won't help. Most of the Catholic teachings aren't even in the Bible. Hail Mary's were implemented by man, not God. Repenting for sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the only way for anyone to be saved from a fiery hell in eternity.

i'm sorry you experience this manner it sounds to me like you're an athiest. The Bible is the fantastic e book ever written and in case you spent the time to look into the works of the bible and the sturdy note for all to hearken to and browse you may have a more beneficial useful information of the man who created us all. human beings use the bible to precise there perspectives of god and his note now those of the human beings who may over use are overly non secular and may no longer choose others for what they could have finished. because it says do no longer choose others until eventually you your self favor to be judged. Judgement of ones movements is in God's palms. the sturdy e book because that's likewise called isn't replaced from at the same time as it replaced into written i visit allow you to know that alot of the unique papers that were written not in any respect made it into the bible alot of human beings have self assurance that to be the artwork of the Catholic Church and the Vatican considering that there may nicely be a lot of solutions to questions they do no longer favor to get out. it truly is likewise between the tremendous motives the Catholic church replaced into adverse to the launch of the action picture The Da Vinci Code because it brings to gentle many memories that could have not be disclosed in previous works. Like Jesus and Mary Magdelene being husband and spouse and the opportunity of easily one of Jesus's bloodline nevertheless alive at present! God is between the excuses human beings are chuffed on a daily basis those who love God particularly the the pursuit of greed and money stay longer and happier lives that's a undeniable actuality. basically imagine if rockstars and celebrities may follow god more beneficial and that i do no longer recommend scientology then we may likely have a lot a lot less drug appropriate deaths and nicely alot a lot less divorce besides.
