how many grams of carbs dose it take for some one to gain one pound, if they don't use the carbs up.

Carbs are only one part. There is all of the food that you eat that make up the weight. Did you ever notice that there are fad diets that are low carbs and others that are high carbs. They both help loosing weight, at least for a short time. Everything has to be taken into account.

Every 1 gram of carbhydrates is equal to for calories.

3500/4=875 grams of carbohyrates

It generally takes about 3500 calories to gain 1 lb and carbs have about 4 calories per gram.

But it's impossible because even at rest the body uses calories to fuel the normal cellular processes.
