I used to have the underneath layer of my hair green, and it was dyed with a semi permanent dye, that ended up staying for a LONG time without fading
I recently dyed my hair light brown, but it hardly covered the green, i waited a bit and re-dyed it, but the green still shows

is there anything i can do, other than bleach the lower layer, so that i can dye my hair without the green showing, or is there a good brand of dye that i should use

If you absolutely don't want to bleach or strip your hair you are going to have to dye it with a "dark brown". Not black though! (the cheapest kind you can find in the store is about $3 a box...revlon)

The dark brown should cover the green and then you can dye a light brown over it and it will work that way...If you go black though the light brown will make it reddish orangeish. You only need to use the cheap Revlon dye!

Making black hair the different colour is particularly puzzling. a professional will ought to strip all colour out of your hair, then dye it the colour you desire (observed as a 2-step technique). this is particularly harsh and adverse on your hair, and could in elementary terms be performed with the help of an exceedingly sturdy, skilled professional. touch-united stateswill must be performed a minimum of as quickly as a month, because of the fact your roots would be very major. i might supply it a depressing blue or blood crimson rinse and experience the highlighted result. many people might kill on your hair colour, merely rock it!

just use a haircolor remover kit and start fresh otherwise anything you do will come out muted.
