Absolutely right. I walk my cats every night (or nearly every night - sometimes the wetahe just isn't good for walkies). They are both leash-trained and when I bend down by the door with their harnesses and leashes, they both come pronto - excoted becuase they know they are going out.

Dogs mostly get walked for exercise. Cats (on the other hand) have other ways to get fit. Walking a cat isn't bad or anything, just not as common as walking a dog so it may seem a little weird!?

I think the main reason for walking dogs is so they can do their business outside, since they don't use litter boxes. Cats are a little more stubborn and would probably look at you like your crazy if you strapped a harness on him/her and tried to walk a cat. My cat will go along with anything and likes going to the park though. Some cats may actually let you CARRY them on a walk, lol, but that's about it.

Some cats actually enjoy going for a walk and there are harnesses and leashes available for just that occasion. You might, however, have trouble training the cat to walk on the leash.
But, I have seen it done. A neighbor of mine used to walk his dog and then come back for the cat who sat patiently on the front lawn waiting his turn. Oh, the cat refused to walk with the dog.

Most cats are trained to take care of their business in a box. But some people do actually walk their cats too. You would want to start training the cat from the time he is a very young kitten though.

not sure, maybe it's coz cats are smaller and in a way have more room to run/jump around in the house. i do walk my cat a little bit, we live near a main road so i bought a lead and walk him round the garden for about 5-10 minutes every day.

cats like to run all over the place they don't stay with their owner. If you put a collar on them they will usually resist walking and as the rule goes cats do what they want to do!

Actually a dog doesn't NEED to be walked, but he does need to go outside to go potty. If you don't have a fenced in yard, you need to take the dog for a walk.
Cats have their litter box.

I think dogs are more social and friendly, but cats are naturally independent. As you see in the wild, dogs hunt in packs (wolves) and cats hunt by themselves (lions and tigers).

Actually dogs can crap in litter boxes also if trained early on. My grown cat actually taught a dachshund we had for a short while to crap in the litter box!
