Bookstore; maybe im looking at a book and he comes up at the side of me 'looking for a book', then he sees the book im looking at and mentions that its a good book, then just try to keep the convo flowing from there.
Coffee shop; really cliche but maybe bump into me *by accident* then do the whole apology thing, let me buy another. Or if im sat down and i see a guy i like sat near by il keep catching his eye, gaining eye contact and smile at him, thats a hint hint come speak to me.
Other random places.. well just dont blurt out 'can i have your number' its just lame and will not have a good result, just i dont know, do the whole 'hiii, do i know you you look familar' then just keep the convo flowing, you need to set a foundation before you ask for the number.
Dont be too confident, cause id just think 'player' or he does it regularly, maybe act a little shy its cute, but not shy that you pee your pants if i said something to you.

The bookstore is easy. Look at what I am reading and open a conversation on the same subject. If you know nothing about that subject, open with what you are reading or would like to read.
Signaling interest is difficult because I could be interested in conversation with you but not be interested in a date with you. Accept the encounter for what it brings. If it's just that conversation, enjoy. If if brings more, enjoy that. Don't push too hard and too fast. Anyone who shows immediate and aggressive interest is probably, to put it politely, a loose and well-riden, woman. Conclude your conversation with, I hope to run into you again sometime. You could give your me your email address and suggest I send you some good book titles and you could do the same. Low key, low pressure, with no expectations.

Bookstores are my favorite hangouts so I would think starting at conversation on the book I was reading would be good. I think making eye contact, smiling and offering your hand would be a plus also.

At the coffee shop:
- I would like him to come up behind me at the counter and say to the cashier "I will get that for the lady"
- he could see me alone and ask "are you waiting for someone?" If I say no he could say "would you like some company?"
My signal to him would be the direct opposite as above. I would love for him to say "sure I would love some company, pull up a chair"
Other ways of contact in a place like that - major eye contact until one of you finally breaks the ice.

ive always wanted a guy to come up to me at the bookstore because that would most likely say that he likes books, which is a turn on.

I would look across the room, then look only a him for a couple seconds, and then smile at him, but not a full smile. Then I would want him to walk towards me and introduce himself. Then he should ask me what my name is and say that it is a pretty name (for romantic affect). I WOULDN'T want him to say any cheesy pick-up lines like "You have beautiful eyes" That says he just wants to screw me.
Hope this helps.â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥

Well most people dont just come up to me & start a conversation, because most are afraid of rejection. But if it were to happen to me, It would most likely start with them introducing themselves with their name. I wouldnt like any cheesy pick up lines. Then everything would unfold from there.

As long as the guy is respectful and really wants a SERIOUS relationship with you is all good.
