As many others I will soon lose my onstar as of 1/08. Can I upgrade my 2001 suburban to digital. As it is now analog

My understanding is the hardware (and installation?) is free, you need to prepay 1 year of service.

As far as I know, the hardware is not available at Circuit City or any other outlet chain. Go to your dealer, or go to www.onstar.com for more info.

I'm sorry but your vehicle does not fall on the list of vehicles that will have the upgrade kit available.
The FCC decided to "allow" cell phone companies to eliminate any analog service starting in Jan of 08 and as a result the module in your vehicle will no longer have a service provider to connect to.
BTW the guy that said take it to Circuit city doesn't have a clue about Onstar !

good news.on-star has come out with a upgrade kit.it will include a vcim and a rearview mirror.it has to be installed by your dealer b/c the vcim has to be programed to the car.
