If the fluid causes hearing loss it is behind your ear drum. Probably your Eustachian tube is plugged. This can happen when you have a respiratory infection.

This happened to me once in my 64 years and I went to an Ear nose and throat specialists. He put a drain in my ear drum and the problem cleared up when the infection cleared up and my Eustachian tube cleared.

Use sudafed which will clear the fluid up. I tend to get a lot of fluid build up in my ears and this really works.

oh gosh, you are so lucky this is just part of your cold, i had ear troubles all the time when i was little. put a cotton ball into it, and lie down on your side with the ear that has fluid. eat soup, follow normal cold rules. yea. it should clear up.

Don't put any more water in it or pack the wax with a QTip- pour some rubbing alcohol in there. Alcohol dries up water or any fluid.

A nasal spray sometimes dries it up but you may be getting an ear infection. If it gets worse I would see your doctor

I would say just put the q-tip in your ear and clean it and then lie back down and get some rest.
