im in love with one of my managers, sometimes we spend time together at one to one meetings about my work, hes always praising me, brushing his hand against mine, sometimes its 4 or 5 times,as we sit side by side at the desk, when i crack jokes, i always catch him laughing to himself, hes pretty quiet too, but his body language gives him away, i was fiddling with a marker pen in a lesson, and a few mins later he was too,in the same way, when he looks at me, he always looks untill i look away, because i feel he can see righ through me, my question is, do you think he might be attracted to me?? im a 32 yr old woman hes 39

Hope he is not moving far? otherwise whats the point...

First of all any kind of relationship with a person who has higher status than urself will indeed look bad to anyone u work with. The treatment u will get from other people will indeed be hurtful and sometimes malice.. I speak from experience.. As a manager he has to been seen to be professional.

Here is what i suggest u do.. Set a date with him call it the last drink as working colleagues, just invite him.. this way you can have ur cake and eat it.. without all the rubbish that could come with some serious effects from other people, u work with.

;-)

By what you described here, it sounds like he is attracted to you. Since you said he was quiet too and since he is one of your managers, i wouldn't bring this up at work. But while your in your one on one meetings you could ask him, like if its nothing, to go get a cup of coffee some time. When you get there, then that would be the appropriate time to discuss all of this, I think so at least. And also, since he is quiet, that's probably why he hasn't approached you. And yea, its not good to mix business with love, because it could get messy, but you can decide that on your own.
~Hope that helped, God Bless

Whoa!!! Hasn't anyone ever told you never to date anyone at work, especially your supervisor. When it doesn't work out (and it usually doesn't), you will have to find another job. Keep your personal life personal. You don't mention if he's married. Is he? Maybe he is a flirt and you will be the one in the crossfire if you don't stop right now. Remember you will be the one looking for a new job, not him. Stop! Your question sounds like someone that is 20 wrote it. You should know better.

I have heard of this happening before. Do you think that it is worth more to pursue your feeling. Honey, its just a job there are plenty out there. What if this guy is the one for you! You can't live life wondering about what you should do or what you shouldn't. Life is way to short for that. So make a decision. Do you want to be more then employer/employee relationship? If so then act on it. If not then you need to get over it.

It's not always good to mix business with pleasure and mabe that is what he is trying not to do. Some business dont allow managers and employees to have relationships with each other or even associate outside of the work place.. I use to work for a company that did that, and if I walked into a restaurant with my husband to eat, and one of my managers was there with his wife, he had to get up and leave, even if his dinner wasnt finished. They dont allow employees to date managers, or have contact with them outside of work hours. They couldnt even go to a wedding of one their employees.. thats taking it a lil too far.. and I'll tell you of this pathetic place.. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant.. (They are so strict that a employee of 11 years admitted to eating 1 bisquit and not paying for it in 11 years.. they fired her on the spot)

Well, number one is he married if so run away from that relationship. Most times men know if you want them or not for some reason the pick that up so do women. Don't make a fool of yourself let him make the first move. Have fun!!!!

If he's available and you're interested, find another job, then hand him your email address and phone number and tell him it's up to him.

If he's married or has a girlfriend, he might still be interested, but his interest would be in having sex and being disloyal to his wife or girlfriend.

He's definitely interested. Are you? Enough to leave your job? If you're interested enough to give up your job, cool off the subtle flirtation.

Now you never explained to us why you can't have this man??? If he is taken then please be a good woman and stop this non-sense! Men like to use us and sadly we allow it! If you can't have him because he is your manager then I would talk things over with him. But also don't get caught in flirting. Flirting is a game and it doesn't always have a winner!
