the biggest problems there is that you didn't put what state. that narrows down what can help. there are many states that have food help, no matter the amount they make and they may need to reevaluate what they spend and where they shop for food, clothes and even toiletries. have them check to see if Dave Ramsey airs on radio in your area. he gives help on stuff they may not realize. my family of 5 barely makes 20k a year and we get very little help ourselves. we don't have fun, we are not in sports or party of waist on bear and such, many people may not think like that and just say i work i deserve fun stuff to do and have, but to live you need to think of how the money goes out and comes in. we don't own credit cards which is one of the biggest downfalls to families struggling. for many a 2nd job isn't an option i know from experience. if they don't get help from the state that allows them to do any home based work, make things to sale, have a garage sale to get money, some even give plasma 2 times a week to have extra cash. sale on eBay. look on-line for your areas state help. there are things out there, not all are told to avoid so many people going after it. ask the local department of human services have lists of centers that help in different ways in most states. they also have lists of places for health issues as well. no matter your income everyone has a right to the list.

There are several businesses that can be up and running on very little money. less than $6,000.00 will buy the equipment for one person to make over $100,000 per year, a family of three all working at it can make well over $250,000 per year. $100,000 and you can start a business making over $100,000 a year every year without any further investment. These are pretty much fool-proof businesses that anyone can do. I don't think I can tell you who to contact though without breaking the yahoo guidelines on advertising. I can tell you though that if anyone has too much for welfare they have enough to start several different kinds of businesses. (NOT THAT WELFARE IS EXCESSIVE)

Help is not what you should be looking for. 'Help' is what is ruining my country. You should all work harder and longer and save more money and not look for handouts or aid when things are tough, look for better ways to EARN money. It is a dead end street that you start walking down when you look for others to do for you what you will not try to do for yourself.
Good luck, we are all faced with the same dillema. Become self-made.
