and I had a sister of my best friend - she had the stomach staple back when it first came out YEARS ago - she was supposed to eat 5 small meals a day = but enjoyed being skinny - so SHE didn't need to eat
and she is still dead, too

Yes, it puts such a terrible strain on your heart (and other vital organs) that people DO die....heart failure, organ shut-down, etc. 1 in 10 cases of anorexia alone leads to death. Imagine a room with 10 girls with anorexia.....and one of them WILL die. How bout that?

YES! Eating disorders are a disease. The people who have them have a disease. Your body will shut down. And if you have it for a long enough period it will start shutting down your vital organs. Its so dangerous!
