No we should not ban it, but we should find a way to keep it out of governments. Religion should be personal to the individual. We need to find a way to end religious run governments.
Banning religion would cause more problems. Oppressing people is never a good solution to anything.

Truth does not cause conflict, people choose to move away from God and into conflict. Some of these people say the reason is their religion or government, economy, health, relations, etc. Look at countries that only allow one religion and see if those people are any better off.
The answer is to practice Loving God, Loving Others and Loving Self. If you do that in the name of religion or not it doesn't really matter as long as you move in that direction.

One person's benefit is another person's harm. That's why we have LIBERTY in America to worship or not worship as we choose.
America does not go to war over religion though others are attacking us based on THEIR particular beliefs. It is not America's policy to interfere in the wars between other countries without being asked so why would we attempt to do away with religion. There are 2.2 billion Christains on the planet - roughly 1/3 of the population. Are you saying that they should be forced not to believe? It's not possible to legislate the beliefs of anyone. People feel what they feel and know what they know. No law can change it.

Revelation --chapters 17 & 18)-- describe the end of ALL false religion.
Read The Bible Online
http://www.watchtower.org/bible/index.htm
What you describe will be attempted by all the governments in unison ... However, not all will fall.
The one religion that tells the truth about God & his purposes, that has sounded the warning throughout the earth ... these will 'stick out like a sore thumb'. These will then be focused on by those banning all religion, & they will take action against them ... This is how God himself describes it:
"He that is touching YOU is touching my eyeball."
-- Zechariah 2:8
The eye is a VERY sensitive organ.
When anything 'trespasses' in our eye,
we take IMMEDIATE action to
Remove it, in its Entirety, for ALL Time.
That is just how Quickly God will react,
& how Long-Lasting the effects of his action will be!

No - we shouldn't ban religions.
You honestly think there would be less war and violence in a world full of atheists? The violence is embedded in human nature - religion just happens to provide a convenient excuse for it. However, in a world without religion, people would still find reasons to beat the snot out of each other.

No, not at all....religion and spirituality can be a healing and harmonizing force...what we need to ban are the whackjob fundamentalists that hijack their religions and turn them into instruments of oppression and intolerance....Catholicism, Protestantism, and (yes) even Islam can stay....al-Sadr, bin Laden, Falwell, Robertson, Roberts and those kinds of nutcases have to go....and no, Mr./Ms. "Born Again," I am NOT going to burn in Hell for suggesting that Pat Robertson's elevator doesn't run all the way to the penthouse, if you know what I mean...or that Falwell's might just be a couple Bibles short of a full bookshelf....

Banning things does not work.
Taking away peoples liberty makes them feel controlled people don't like that.
The best way is to use a more subtle approach conditioning them to think a certain way. For example if you want people to be tolerant of all other faiths then simply condition them to think that Religion is antiquated and unfashionable.
I wonder if you see my point.

There are so many different religions in the world. Are you talking about all of them? It really wouldn't matter anyway. People are always going to find something to fight about. It's human nature.

Organized religion is the worst thing to happen to humankind. I really wish everyone would simply have faith in whichever god they believe exists, and keep it to themselves. No church. Just scriptures thet they believe as truth. Nothing more. The world would MASSIVELY improve in one generation.

Sure, it's only a Constitutional right. What does that matter anyway? We ALL know that things were MUCH better for people in atheist nations such as the former USSR. Right?
