Hi there,

I am bulimic too, have been for about 3 years and have went through so many extremes and phases of an ED and even starvation type phases...its all mental torture...yes it revolves around weight sometimes to a certain extent but it doesnt just torture you when you are throwing up does it? Its everytime you see food you think ok can i eat this? should i eat it and throw it up?...and if you eat it, you torture yourself until you have to be sick...or just hate yourself for it...sound familiar at all?
You wont stop having an eating disorder if you have negitive food thoughts.. i know because i am going through it, I am not recoverd... although recently sought help...its only short term but one step at a time.....however i am still slightly stubborn and sometimes i think it will take a major health warning to stop me..and lil scares even stop it for a while sometimes.

You are so light/low weight now that even if you stop bulimic but try to loose weight or starve yourself you'll probably become aneroxic..and eventually you could be forced into getting help. I am not going to try to make you go see doctors or counsellors, because they are useless unless you want to change things.. i know, i have went before when i really didnt want to stop, i think with eating disorders theres always a part of you that doesnt want to stop and that's why people never truely get over them, because the urge is always there! It's how you control it, is the key.

Even though you say you dont want people to tell you to go to counselling, there is a part of you deep down wants help, you even admit you want to stop...why not think about getting help...or talking to someone...hey at the end of the day they wont be able to take away from you will they? so wats the harm in giving it a go?

I don't want to patronise you at all because babe i am going threw the same thing in many respects but I just wanna be normal and to stop revolving my life around food and weight and negitive emotions about myself..i'm sure a part of you must feel the same.

Best of luck anywayz

You do NOT want to lose more wieght! 113 pounds is a perfect weight for someone 5'5". If you lose too much you'll become really unhealthy. Don't think that being super skinny will make you more beautiful or more popular or anything like that. You're at a great weight now. If you eat healthy and excercise right, your body will naturally find the right weight for you, and you shouldn't try to force your body into being skinnier than it should be. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so just because you weigh more doesn't mean you're fat. Whatever you do, don't try any diets. Diets are generally bad for you. The best health counselors out there will tell you what I did: just eating right and excercising are all the "dieting" that you need.

STOP practicing bulemic behavior. It's very very bad for you. Throwing up a lot will errode your esophogus and the enamel of your teeth. This is VERY unhealthy for you to do. I don't know how to get you to stop except by simply...stopping. I've never been stupid enough to fall into bulemia or anorexia, so I can't really tell you how to cope. I guess the best way is to just force yourself to eat right and not throw it up afterwads. Don't let yourself think that you're getting fat, because you're NOT. It's way more ugly to be a little stick figure than to be a proportionately beautiful girl.

Okay, you just told everybody.... and people who can't exactly give you expert advice.
You need help now, I developed an eating disorder at 17 years old. Because I let it start, I will deal with it the rest of my life in some form. I finally checked myself into an inpatient facility 4 years later.... and as much as I hated to make that first step, it was the best thing I ever did.
There are so many things you can learn from people with expertise in this area, there are so many ways they can help.
Eating disorders are not funny, and they are not easy to get over. It's not like having a drug or alcohol addiction....those people don't have to be around it. You have to deal with food everyday, and it's a challenge.
I hope that you will find the courage to get help, this is not something you will be able to change alone.
Do it when YOU are ready. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it.

Well, you just told everyone that uses Yahoo answers, so why not get counseling? Any doctor will tell you that you are too light for your age. The average person in your height category should weigh between 125-140. Being too skinny can obstruct your immune system, and compromise your metabolism. Not to mention all that stomach acid deteriorating your esophagus. I know it's hard to stop, as I have had friends in the same predicament, but it is a serious health hazard. Anyone that you confide in with this secret is sure to help as much as possible, especially if you trust that person. After all, there are plenty of alternatives to weight loss!

Dear I dont think you realize this but once you stop being bulimic you are going to gain so much weight. I work with a couple of bulimic people right now, that got away from that dangerous lifestyle and the end result, one guy had gained over 150 lbs and the girl over 50 lbs. You should stop before the lbs you gain back bite you in the butt and you are really unable to control your weight. Youre probably still young, so save yourself while you can. I wont tell you to get consuleing but if you want help when you decide to start changing to a healthier lifestyle--The Health Nut will be here, and I'll help where I can!

You can continue losing weight without throwing up. I'm glad you want to stop, as bulimia can cause an erosion of the esophagus to the point it bleeds and the stomach acid coming into the mouth can rot your teeth. The best way to lose weight is to up your exercise while lowering your calories. Eat about 1,200 to 1,300 daily and make them nutritious calories. Lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grain. Eat two protein servings daily, like fish and chicken. Bake, broil or boil everythings, nothing fried. Drink plenty of water.
If you do all this plus exercise four times daily for a half hour to an hour, you'll lose. Combine weight training with cardiovascular exercise like jogging, jumping rope or following "sweating to the oldies" with Richard Simmons. Hope you achieve your goal, good luck!

ok first of all you need to try and figure out how it all started. if this isn;t how you want to be, that;'s good that you know you need to do something about it and you're already on the way to recovery.
try eating very small snacks at a time, not binge eating large meals, and preventing yourself from throwing them up. if you find you can hold these down well then continue to increase the size of meals
it will take alot of self control but if you're determined i hope you can manage it
it may help if you can talk to someone, but if you want to talkyou can email me
however to make sure that you're better you should find what underlying causes caused you to become bulimic so that you heal yourself completely
good luck

well i've never really been bulimic, but i used to be very consious about my weight, try eating healthy foods, like lots of fruit and veg, then you will not feel so bad about eating, because they are low in calories, if you can do this for a whole day without throwing up or anything else bad, reward yourself in some way, day by day add something to your diet, and just try and keep going and rewarding yourself, believe in yourself an dyou will get there in the end. i hope i've helped. good luck!

If you really have a problem with this and you really want to stop then you HAVE to get help, you're unlikely to be able to do it on your own, bulimia is an illness and it needs to be treated as such. Get some help!

the only way to stop this type of disorder is to seek medical advice, something you say you never want to do. But they are also the ones who know the best way to lose weight the fastest and healthiest. It's a win win situation.... think about it........good luck.....
