my question is how many inches do you have to grow before you notice you look thinner? iam 5'6" right now(i was 5'4"before) and my doctor said i will grow another 4inches (i had a bone age test) . so if i grow the 4 inches will i look thinner if i still continue to maintain my weight of 113lbs?

your goal of being sickly thin at 5'10 is not a good one. 113 lbs is a healthy weight for a woman of 5'0-5'3 not 5'10.

if you are intentionally restricting calories just to maintain a certain bodyweight you are with out a doubt suffering from multiple nutritional deficiencies. there are many, many diseases that are the direct result of prolonged nutritional deficiencies. is being "thin" worth it?

5'6" at 113 pounds is thin already. If you're 5'10" and still way 113 lbs, you're going to look and probably BE unhealthy. I'm 5'7" now, and weight 130 lbs, and everyone still refers to me as skinny.

My advice: don't worry about your weight so much. Girls these days see models and celebrities like Mary Kate and think that that's how they have to look in order to be beautiful. Truth: most models are photoshopped to look thinner, and/or they have eating problems. If you eat healthy and excercise right, you're body will naturally find the best weight for you. Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat, so just because you weigh more, doesn't mean you're fat.

I have had eating disorders.. what i perceived as thin, was a fallacy.. Body image is a reflection not of the mirror but of what your minds eye sees.. we are so fed IMAGE and thinness is perfection in our society till the point we are killing ourselves.
I recommend highly you speak to a doctor first, about what is for you a healthy weight, not what you think is. know your family health history, get a physical. I don't know your age.. but , i am concerned... I use to model, i stayed thin.. and the price i paid down the road has been hard and heavy. I have had all kinds of medical problems now much older. Friends have died thinking they weren't pretty or thin enough. Be you, not an idea of someone else's image of perfection, who is to say they are even right? It's like we have turned over to others our concepts of who we are to be. We should be glad we are different, unique souls , be a trend setter yourself.
good luck to you....

Of course you will look thinner but you will get heavier if you grow taller. Learn to become fit. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).

You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.
