As usual, I think most of these responses have missed the point.
Having a war on "terrorism" is difficult, if not impossible to win. How do you prevent people from using terrorist tactics? Weaker parties everywhere will use terror tactics if they feel that is what it takes to win. It is the nature of the beast.
Even the administration and the military have tacitly admitted as much. Notice how most of the generals no longer call it the "Global War on Terror" but "The long War". This is a much more murky term, but at least a "long war" implies and ending at some point. A war on "terror" could concievably go on forever.

Why do you care? There are others out their protecting your Freedom. So you can sit by your PC nice and cozy. Concept that you are missing is that Radical Islamics want to cut your head off or give you a prayer rug! I can see you will be the 1st 1 to be handed prayer rug instead of fighting! Oh and take your PC away from you. Just look what happen to Afghanistan after the Russians cut and run and recent Somalia. Radical Islamics don't understand the judicial system IE: Twin Towers attack in 1993 those guys are doing life in prison. Did that deter them from doing 9/11? I wish we could pay them money for PEACE not going to happen! They want those 21 virgins! By being in Iraq they have to use a lot of resources and kept busy sending all their fighters to kill innocent Iraqi civilians kill as many US soldiers as possible to change US public opinion about Iraq. Don't fall for the trap!

The main question is that regardless of who or what we are at war with, does it worry you that we are fighting for our very survival as a nation or do you just not give a damn. Anyway, this "concept" that we are fighting has actually killed over 3000 Americans in Iraq and many many thousands of Iraqis and this same "concept" killed Americans in many other places around the world, including at the world trade center in New York. It certainly DOES bother me that so many Americans have this attitude of not wanting to fight for themselves, their country, what's right, for other nations that need our help and numerous other important reasons to fight when we have thousands of our American boys and girls that are risking their lives every minute to protect these same mixed up Americans.

No, we are at war with terrorists that want to take away our way of life. You can't be at war with a concept. So thankfully with the strength of our President and our Troops I don't have to worry.
God Bless our Troops!

Very good question. I think its true that we are for a large part at war with a concept. Whether or not we should worry about it is another question. No sense in worrying about anything. The work lies in taking our leaders to task for perpetuating this.

Yes because concepts are allot harder to kill and take longer to kill; so I'm worried that we don't have the stomach for a long bloody war.

Considering that going to war with a 'concept' has prevented major terrorist attacks against us - I am not bothered.

No, we are at war with PEOPLE who are hell-bent on KILLING US- all of us, including you. Many military personnel are protecting you, and all you can do is make glaring accusations. That's pretty sick.
