Yes it would be a great idea to ask. They are use to people treating them like they are handicapped and if you challenge them to a foot race it will make them feel like an equal.

I guess you don't have a friend or a family member in a wheel chair, and you have never been in one for an extended period of time. So you feel free to find yourself funny.

don't know but I have a friend in a wheel chair that he lost his legs because I hid them from him.
