I don't like "bitter melon" if that is considered a vegy! Yukko!
and I also cannot stand that vegie..with the sticky gunk in them...that you eat with other foods..I think that it is a southern food..but, man, what is in that vegy, snot or something? boogers?
Gross! Sorry, but I don't like them, plain or with anything on them! Disgusting!
Okay, so what are your "unfav's"?

You are thinking of OKRA. Oh, I love it! I am from the Southern USA and you are right, we love that snotty stuff! We fix it boiled, fried, pickled. Pickled is the very best way. We also lay okra pods on top of black eyed peas for the last 20 or so minutes of cooking so that they steam--then eat them with the peas. OK--as for what I do not like--that BITTER MELON. My daughter's father is Filipino, and he uses that stuff a lot--whew! It tastes like some kind of horrible medicine. YUCK. The other thing I do not like is pickled corn--usually only seen in the southern USA. I have never tasted it because I cannot get past the smell--it smells like POOP. I am not kidding--it really smells like poop. My mother used to make it when I was a kid, and the house would literally smell like poop for a couple of days! HORRIBLE!

Canned English peas are about the grosses thing I know to eat as well as beets. The thing with okra is that you have to know how to cook it. It is really good fried and there are many Cajun recipes that use okra. If it is cooked too long it will get slimy. Try it some time and you might change your mind. Also the smaller pods are best because if they are too big they will be tough.

Lima beans and creamed style corn top my list. Lima beans couldn't be any drier or disgusting. I've had a bag in my freezer for 20+ years to use when my kids had a "boo-boo" and we used it as an ice pack. It's still there and my kids are adults!
Creamed corn stinks and is disgusting. Just opening a can of it makes me gag. My dad - the old depression-era guy that he was - would make us try something of everything on the table each night. I sat until 9PM one night because I couldn't gag down the creamed style corn. I've never served it and never forced my children to eat something they truly dislike.
Thanks for asking!

I cannot stand artichoke! What's funny is I love asparagus...they might be in the same family but not even close to the same flavor/taste.
