If I go on the Atkins diet and lose weight, then gain it all back, can I go back on the same diet or will my body say "no way! you already did that once!"

Not really. What you'll see is a peak, then you have to take it to the next level by including exercise. Dieting alone is not the whole story.

nah...the body doesn't know of such things

I would try to think proactively to prevent rebounding back to the old body weight. Atkins is a very effective fat loss diet that should only be used for short periods of time. the diet for the post-obese must change along with the level of activity. the metabolism of the post-obese is not normal and must be treated as such.

They don't become ineffective but it does become a lot harder to lose the weight. The first time i did south beach the pounds melted away. Now, its very hard for me to lose on South Beach- i lose but its very slow.

Good luck and remember that the best diet is moderation ;)
