Farted right in your face is rude and naughty. This has nothing to do with belief. As to knowing someone who has different belief from you, the best thing is to do is not to touch on the subject. Move on to others. Religion or beliefs can be sensitive thus its best to avoid it unless you're a religious person who holds authority in what you have to say.

I cannot imagine a situation in which I would allow that to happen were I conscious, however were it to, I wouldn't need to know what the person's beliefs were, I would be upset and possibly enraged regardless.

I don't think it's polite for anybody to fart in anybody's face regardless of whether or not they are religious or non religious. It's disgusting and rude.

I accidently added you to my contacts when I was trying to answer this question. oops sorry. but anyways to answer this question I would have to say - eat a lot of beans - wait til they are sleeping - then rip a giant one in their face. then tell them - it is your belief to fart stronger than them. But if you want to be serious about it - tell them they are nasty and give them some pepto.
