Lol, my cat did the same when my siser would play her recorder. Cats don't really know that its entertainment. They just think that it is an annoying sound. keep playing, but you won't see your cat anywhere near.

The high notes of our whistle, or even better, the purer higher notes of the flute or other woodwind instruments seem to mimic the sounds made by a kitten to it's mother. The mother attracted by the calls, then reassures the kittens by licking and rubbing them. When your cat hears these type of sounds emanating from you, the cat takes on the maternal role and is trying to offer you reassurance.

My cat is deaf, but she meows at me when she sees me talking to her. I have heard that cats only meow when communicating with people - not with other animals. They howl, growl, hiss, and yowl - but save the meow for us.

When meowing, cats can make quite an assortment of sounds, and the tone your cat uses when you play should give you an idea of whether it is pleased or agitated. Also, quick movements of the tip of the tail or slightly turning back the ears are sometimes signs of agitation.

When my cat is very happy with me, she purrs and meows at the same time. I think this "purr-talk" is very cute!

I would say it's annoying to the cat and it wants you to stop and give it attention instead.
