If I record from my lite-on dvd recorder can I also playback on another dvd player other than lite-on? If so what kind?
Or if I record from lite-on what kind of dvd disc is compatible with other dvd players?

That's difficult to answer because the capabilities of different burners / players are different. It really has nothing to do with the make of the equipment. It has to do with the format used to burn the DVD/CD and whether the other unit can read the same format. The are sometimes compatibility issues, but technically, if burned properly, another unit designed to read that format should be able to read it. Some units like blank media from one provider better than another, so that may cause an issue at times. What another unit will not read is a data disk that is left open as a storage drive where you keep adding data.

You really have to study the capabilities and compatibility of each unit to determine if it should read a particular disk.
