I just stick it in the crock pot with some water or broth and leave it for about 3 hours. Just make sure its done. Its hard to tell with corned beef because its red but just be careful.
It comes out really tender when you put it in the crock pot.

Do it for 60 min. a lb. at a simmer, not a boil. Take out the meat then add the carrots and potatoes. Then 10 min. later add the little onions and cabbage wedges for about another 20 min. Let the meat rest while veggies cook, then slice. Good with horseradish mixed with sour cream.

id say about 50 min. per pound.
it is not pre-cooked it,s been cured but needs cooking to tenderize the meat and that takes awhile.
now i know where andy gets his corned beef.
