Because they prefer to listen to their priests and monks rather than God.

[9:31] they take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but one God: there is no god but he. praise and glory to him: (far is he) from having the partners they associate (with him).

The Trinity. The idea is that the one God is expressed in three forms; the Father , Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son. Think of water, ice and steam all essentially the same but apparantly quite different.
When Christians worship Jesus they are worshipping God. Jesus is God made flesh. The Incarnation.

True Christians do not worship Jesus.
They follow Jesus example and worship his Father Jehovah/Yahweh, the only true God of the Bible.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus is God himself. In fact, the scriptures show the opposite.
John 14:28 - Jessus said his Father is greater than he is
John 1:18 - many people saw Jesus
Matthew 24:36-39 - The Father knew things that the Son did not.

There are many more scriptures disproving the Trinity teaching which is of pagan origin.

The trinity teaching is God-dishonouring and it undermines what Jesus actually went through for mankind.

True Christians worship the only true God Jehovah/Yahweh

Remember the term God in English comes from multiple words in Hebrew (ballpark 10), some singular, some plural. Jesus is one of the God(head) (a Family). John 1:1-5.
Another of the 'additions' to God's word keeps people from realizing that the Lord (not lord) of Genesis-Malachi was the Lord Jesus Christ.

For Christians, Jesus IS God, part of the Holy Trinity, while Jesus walked this earth, he demonstrated how a human should truly follow God.

Jesus claimed equality with God, John 5 v17-47.
He also claimed to be God; John 10 v30 "I and the Father are one." (John 10 v22-42 for the full story)

John describes Jesus as the Word in the beginning of his Gospel.
John 1 v1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God."
John 1 v14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

People who follow Mohammed's teachings must pick up these quotes from websites designed to fight the gospel. If you analyze the gospels and epistles for yourself you will see that many times Jesus is called Son of God. There are a few occasions when you could spin what he is saying on that particular occasion, but just to consider those obscure cases is dishonest.
For starters consider these 4 key events in jesus life:
1. Jesus is baptised. A voice from heaven says
"This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased."
2. Jesus [Matthew 16] asks his disciples who he is, and Peter says "Son of the living God". Jesus then blesses him because it was revealed to Peter by God the Father.
3. Jesus goes up a mountain with his 3 core disciples, and is transfigured into a dazzling white figure, with face like the Sun. A voice comes from a cloud:
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"
4. At Jesus trial they can't find any real charges to stick, so finally he is asked "Tell us are you the Christ, the Son of God."
He answers "Yes, it is as you say". [Matthew 27]

Only when a person honours Jesus in the way that Jesus asks is he born again, forgiven, and able to receive the Holy Spirit. This is not available to followers of Mohammed as they won't honour God's one and only Son. Jesus was incarnated to be our Saviour and to manifest God's character.
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except by me".

The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit.

As a man, Jesus needed to pray. When He was praying he was not praying to Himself, but to God the Father.

The Trinity is the doctrine that there is only one God in all existence. This one God exists as three persons: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, but one God. Each is a separate person, yet each of them is, in essence, divine in nature.

The Jews believed he was making himself out to be God, and picked up stones to throw at him.

The Jews answered Him [Jesus], "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."

Jesus is The Living Word and was with God from the beginning, so we only worship God. You should ask yourself why you follow a man who was totally ungodly and likely a psychopath, not a prophet.

May God Bless you.

Jesus is the only way to god if you must pray directly to Jesus and God will still get the message but pray to Jesus
hope you love him as much as I do.

God is three persons: the father, son and holy ghost. As a Christian and a Catholic, I worship the trinity - not just Jesus.
