I get this almost all the time as I am allergic to traffic fumes.

Paracetamol does nothing for it though may relief the pain but that is all.

Take mucron as it decongests and has paraceutamol in it.

Personnaly I use vincigrip from Spain and find them good. They have paraceutamiol plus antihistamine and also decongestant, but nothing in the UK like it.

Neither of the above will hurt baby.

Essential oils of eucalyptus and sniffing that is a good remedy and harmless to baby. Just sniff it, or pour two drops in hot water and sniff that.

This decongests and is a good remedy. also put three drops in the bath water and sniff that.

failing any of the above I use a defuser that is elcetric and add essential oils of eucalyptus and lemon and let that smell in the home.

The remedies of doctors are normally operations to clear it out and they do not work.

Keep away from this.

try and find out what you are allergic to. Milk is often a cause and also makes mucus. try cutting out milk for two weeks and see if it helps, if it does then keep away from dairy foods and have soya milk or oat or rice or a mixture of them, one type one day and the different one the next.

Hope this helps G

I had this about a month ago, and it is really nasty! I went to the doctors because it lasted more than 3 days and I felt like I'd run into a wall face first, with no outward signs just the deep aching, pain and numbness, the doctor prescribed antibiotics which lifted it alot, so yes I'd definately get to see the doctor, I'm not pregnant but the feeling in my face was definately too nasty for paracetamol alone...

Good Luck, although I had 7 days of antibiotics it did last a little longer but not so intense.

i feel so bad for you - i definitely know about the pain you are feeling- i also, am on my 3rd day of some crazy virus which, of course, ended up in my sinuses. you really should go see your doctor - i'm sure he can give you SOMETHING to make you more comfortable. in the meantime, the ONLY thing that eases the pain is boiling some water and pour in a basin, dish, etc. and breathe in the steam. i actually put a towel over my head so that the steam doesn't evaporate. this might sound weird, but it really does help. be careful not to put your face too close to the water - ouchhhhhh !!! good luck - please try it !!!!

don't know where you are in your pregnancy, but if you trully have sinusitis, you need antibiotics, pregnant or not. they could do an xray of your sinus (yes, even if you're pregnant, they shield the baby) and see if it's trully sinusitis. and if you're not resting, they could prescribe narcotics for pain. like I said, it depends on where you are in your pregnancy, some drugs are safe for babies at certain times, and some aren't. What's bad for mom is also bad for baby, and that includes: pain, no sleep, infection. Yeah, you should go back to your doc, make sure they know how miserable you are.
