look for a wrecked SRT-4 Neon and swap all the stuff out of that in to your neon and make a sleeper car. everything is a direct bolt on and swaping an engine already turbo charged saves you moeny in the longrun. as with a non turbo engine you will have to buy stronger rods and pistons and so on. seen many non turbo engines blow up as the engine couldnt take the turbo over time.

I can't give u specific engines but look at a few different sites like yahoo motors or msn autos, look at different cars the sizes and types of the engine and most importantly the displacement, taking those into consideration u also have to think about how much custom work u are willing to do, cutting, welding, etc. with any swap though u will have to make custom fitting for the hoses, no 2 engine compartments are alike so neither will the hoses, wires, and cables be. Beside that the dodge neon has a good engine, i would just drop a supercharger or turbocharger into it, it would cost less and be less work.

The 2.0 in the neon was a common block with a turbochrged car, and it can be turbocharged to make the neon a real performer.
There are kits out there that make a huge amount of power.
I once saw a neon kill a prelude like it was nothing. You can really make it a sleeper if you want.
