Well, this is a very delicate situation. If you are really a close friend and you "suspect" that they may be you have to approach the matter by expressing how much your friendship with her means to you. Then ask if you can tell her something of a personal nature that you are observing and if she says yes then start out by discussing her mannerisms or behavior which has made you feel she or he is gay or acting that way. If they want you to know that they are active in that lifestyle they will open up to you; if not, they will ask you to respect their privacy and drop the subject. In this case, you should not judge them but simply do as they ask. If they choose to discuss it be grateful that they consider you such a close friend that they can trust you with their personal life. Good luck!

I feel strongly that you should not force someone into a box because of what you believe. What if this person is bi-sexual? The best thing you can do is wait. Would telling them they are gay really make your relationship any better or would it put a wall up between you. Maybe they are not ready to admit that to themselves. If he/she is gay they know that and maybe they are waiting for the right time to tell you, if you are a friend they will tell you sooner or later. You obviously don't want hurt them so why make that a possibility by "telling" them that is what they are. Would you tell a friend what their ethnicity was? Probably not they already know. First of all how do you no they are gay. don't assume they are if you are not gay. Some people intend to be what they are not are you talking about yourself. The main ideal is not to assume, just ask what's wrong with asking a simple question are you Gay Take care Msbeepbeepfinest

Shouldn't you wait until THEY tell you? It may be intimidating to them if you say 'Hey..are you gay' or something on those lines...Or you could try to steer that person to admitance by stuff like 'oh, that Nsync guy is now openly gay, what do you think about that' etc...

Especially if it is a pointless question....I mean, why would you need to tell them they are gay, they will know. Unless you just think they are gay, but isn't their sexuality up to them!?

You could infer that you know they are gay by helping them do gay things.
Or you could tell them that there is nothing wrong with being gay.

You can't tell someone they are gay. They have to figure that out for themselves, YOU don't determine that.

why would you want to tell someone they`re gay ?
if they are, they would know, i don`t think anyone with a different sexual orientation should have someone else tell them.
