ok, heres the deal, i have raised my daughter from birth and but she is not my biological child, now the state wants to take money from her biological father to pay for her health insurance, this will cause complications and may lead to a legal showdown between me, my wife and this person. i need to drop her from the state plan so they will not try to take money from him.

You can purchase individual insurance for a child of any age. I suggest that you contact a local health agent and ask them for recommendations/quotes.

It sounds like it is a complicated situation. I applaud you for trying to do the best thing for the child. You're a real Dad.

If your in California, you can apply for Healthy Families. There is a income requirement. Also Blue Cross has a plan that's a PPO, you would have a $3500.00 deductible, after which the office visits are $0

You should go to your local health department , and apply for medicaid , depending on how much you make you could get full coverage for your child meaning you wouldnt have to pay a cent for the doctor or prescriptions . I am pregnant and just applied for it , its a lifesaver if you dont have insurance .Also the health department will give free immunizations for children.Hope this helps ...

You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Go to: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=616163&Type=health

Take care,
Casey

I know that the Gerber Company has great life insurance but I don't know about health insurance, but you can certainly check with them. Just go to Gerber Life Insurance Company website and write to them and see what they can recommend.

Another reason why universal health care makes sense. Problem with it is it's just too socialist for the USA.
