Are you overweight? I just wonder because you are already working out 5 times a week. I have lost quiet a bit walking. The problem was that I walked two miles a day for a couple of weeks and had to move on up to three to see any more results. This continued until I was walking seven miles a day. When I stopped walking I gained most of it back. This last time I have cut out sugar and started eating whole grain breads. I also eat a goodly amount of salad and green veggies. I am now in at 177lbs. That's down from 210+ last November. Bottom line~ eat healthier and exercise more. Then again muscle weighs more than fat and if you are building muscle by working out 5X a week you may not see much loss.

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.
Good LUCK!

Calorie count, look up how many calories your body needs, it will ask weight and height. Also it is all about cardio, many males believe that it is all weights but its not. You sound like you're in pretty good shape so I would say 30-45min of cardio a day. Don't just run for 30min but warm up, jog, then get to the highest level you can, where you cant talk stay there for around 1 1/2 min then jog for 2 min then back up for the 1 1/2min.
Calories In > Calories burned = weight gain
Calories burned > calories in = weight loss

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

You should cut calories. Eat a diet of about 1200 to 1500 calories a day. Eating less than that will put your body into starvation mode. You should write down everything you eat in a journal too keep track. It helps you be accountable for yourself.

I started dieting about February 1st and have lost 16 lbs. I have been following weight watchers, but mostly doing my own think. The one thing you have to remember is to keep the weight off has to be a lifestyle change and if you deprive yourself too much of the foods you love, you will become misreably hungry and cheat on your diet to the point where you just give up.
I have learned a couple of things which help me a lot.
1. I avoid fast foods... no pizza, McDonalds, Arby's, Red Lobster etc...If I cheat and go to Red Lobster, its not a failure, I just start all over the next day with healthy eating.
2. I limit myself to 1 soda every couple of days. As a matter of fact, I am sitting here drinking a Mt. Dew. I dont cut them totally out because I give up and crave the pop. I mostly drink water and iced tea with Splenda
3. I keep healthy foods in my house to snack on such as peaches, banana's, pretzels, weight watchers ice cream bars, small boxes of those green giant veggies such as broccoli mix and even brussel sprouts. They are pretty good.
Other snack foods such as cheeto's, pringles and all that are fattening and if it is there, you will eat it. Take it out of the house.
4.Use skim milk instead of whole milk or 2%. It will take awhile for you to adjust to skim, but once you get used to it, you will be ok
5. When you eat something like a burger, have salad instead of the fries. Cut out all those carbs and eat salad or veggies.
and dont put butter on everything.
5. Learn to drink coffee with splenda or no fat creamer. It takes away from your appetite.
6. Try to use mustard instead of miracle whip or use miracle whip free.
7. When you walk swing your arms and when you sit move your legs. Keep moving, it burns more calories
8. Eat breakfast every day. Something like some oatmeal and skim milk with fruit. I like a 1/2 c. scrambled eggs on a slice of multigrain toast with a cup of coffee.
Good luck. I could go on and on but am running out of space.
