Supply and demand. You will get what you pay for. All breeds that are bred well cost more to begin with, and less in vet bills and heart ache in the end. Please do not buy dogs from unreputable breeders. You just encourage them! Go to a resue foundation for Rotts, or the pound. If you can't afford much to buy a dog, you can afford the upkeep either if it is to be a quality one.
