Their website says
"Over the past several days, the Fund has received feedback in the United States (none in Canada) raising concerns about pet food
manufactured since early December, and its impact on the renal health of the pets consuming the products. Shortly after receipt of the first
complaint, the Fund initiated a substantial battery of technical tests, conducted by both internal and external specialists, but has failed to
identify any issues with the products in question. The Fund has, however, discovered that timing of the production associated with these
complaints, coincides with the introduction of an ingredient from a new supplier. The Fund stopped using this ingredient shortly after this
discovery and production since then has been undertaken using ingredients from another source."

Hi There, My 2 Jack Russells are on a special diet of strictly
fish but I'll help you any way I can. You see here in Canada we
too have had many recalls on Dog Food, but it's usually beef
or poultry, the reason being Beef "Mad Cow" disease and for
the Chicken "Salmonella Food Poisoning" These orders come from the F.D.A. for awareness on the product to the Consumer just as if you or I were going to eat a food that is been Contaminated. I hope you understand this and it is for Safety Reasons and Public Awareness. They have no idea when it's going to occur? It's strictly for your Dog/Cat's Safety. I hope I explained this thoroughly to your answer? P.S. The remaining of bad bunch are destroyed!

It was causing kidney failure and killing dogs & cats. The pets didn't have this problem until they were fed that brand of food.
And the manufacture don't know what is causing it or won't own up to it that they know.

They think at this point that the wheat used was at fault. They have yet to pin point the toxic substance causing the deaths.
